Centered: An Art & Wellness Experience

In a world that feels fast, chaotic, and disconnected, Centered offers a return to stillness through the art of creating. Rooted in the ancient practice of pottery, we reimagine the ceramics studio as a space for balance, presence, and well-being—where mindful movement, deep focus, and creative flow invite calm and clarity.

At the heart of pottery is a fundamental step: centering the clay. Before anything can take shape, the clay must be grounded and aligned on the wheel. This act mirrors the human experience—just as clay cannot rise unless it is centered, neither can we thrive without physical alignment, nervous system regulation, and emotional stability. The rhythmic motion of the wheel, steady posture, and deep breathing naturally reduce tension, quiet the mind, and bring the body into balance.

Art and wellness are inseparable at Centered. Each session is designed to be meaningful, restorative, and enjoyable—an invitation to slow down, respond to life with intention rather than reactivity, and reconnect with yourself. Through the simple, powerful act of shaping clay, creativity becomes a tool for healing, focus, and lasting well-being.

We are different.

Centered exists at the intersection of deep ceramic knowledge, lived experience, and strategic brand-building, an intersection few others can replicate. This approach is shaped by my lifelong relationship with clay and a clear understanding of how art can function as a wellness practice, not just a creative hobby.

I grew up working in a ceramics studio starting at age 12 and continued through college as a ceramics major. I am now an art educator. This long-term immersion gives me an intuitive understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional power of pottery—especially the centering process on the wheel. I’ve witnessed firsthand how working with clay regulates the nervous system, grounds the body, and creates space for focus and calm. This is not a theory for me; it’s a lived practice.

What truly sets Centered apart is the intention behind the environment. Most ceramics studios are skill-focused, intimidating, or creatively exclusive—and they rarely articulate or design for the wellness benefits that making pottery naturally provides. A relaxed, inclusive, wellness-forward studio experience simply doesn’t exist at scale. Centered is intentionally built to fill that gap, making recentering through art accessible to people who may not see themselves as “artists” but are seeking balance, presence, and relief from stress.

In addition to my art background, I bring professional marketing and brand expertise that most studios lack. I worked my way up to Marketing Director at a building and design firm and helped launch three seasons of a home renovation television show. I have managed sponsors, built partnerships, created content, and understand how to clearly communicate value and emotion through brand image. This allows Centered to articulate its wellness mission in a way traditional studios don’t—and can’t.

Through my past experiences, I’ve consistently seen the impact art has on mental health and the ability to reset, refocus, and recenter. Centered is my way of making that power visible, intentional, and accessible to others—by combining authentic craft expertise with thoughtful wellness design and strategic storytelling.
